Hi, I’m Josh Harty
A musician, CCAR certified recovery coach, and a person in recovery.
I started playing music in churches as a kid, making gospel records, and was a working musician before I was old enough to drive. I’ve spent decades on the road, making records, performing around the world, and sitting around tables with people from all kinds of backgrounds.
I also spent more than 20 years drinking and getting fucked up.
When I finally got sober, I thought stopping was the work. It turned out stopping was only the beginning. Alcohol was gone, but a lot of the fear, resentment, old patterns, and ways I’d learned to escape discomfort were still there.
Learning how to live sober has been a much bigger piece of my recovery.
I’ve found help in the Steps, community, honest reflection, service, breath and body practices, and learning to stay when my instinct is to run. I’m a certified recovery coach, but I don’t believe my experience or training makes me an expert on anyone else’s life.
I won’t ask you to follow my path. I’ll bring what I’ve learned, what I’ve been trained in, honest questions, and a willingness to walk alongside you while you figure out what works for you.
